This original artwork is part of my 365 Daily Painting Reflections project, a year-long practice where I create a new painting every single day. Through this process I explore color, intuition, and the emotional rhythm of everyday life.
Day 64 continues my exploration of lilies, this time placed against a bold, vibrant background. Bright yellow petals open across a striking pink field crossed by vertical blue lines, creating a dynamic contrast between warm and cool tones. The composition feels energetic and expressive, almost like the flowers are glowing against a patterned wall or garden backdrop.
Created with oil pastels, the piece has strong texture, visible marks, and layered color. The medium allows spontaneous strokes and rich pigment, emphasizing movement and intensity. The flowers appear lively and slightly wild, capturing the feeling of a moment painted quickly while the inspiration is fresh.
This painting is about color, vitality, and emotional immediacy — a small celebration of brightness and life.
