This original watercolor painting is part of my 365 Daily Painting Project, an ongoing year-long practice where I create one artwork every day. The project is both a creative discipline and a personal exploration, allowing me to experiment freely with color, gesture, and intuition while documenting my evolving artistic language.
Through this daily ritual, each painting becomes a small visual journal entry — capturing fleeting impressions from nature, light, memory, and emotion.
Day 61/365 explores the quiet elegance of a white lily emerging from deep, moody foliage. The petals unfold in soft layers of pale gray and white, illuminated against rich washes of forest green and charcoal watercolor. The darker surrounding forms create a dramatic contrast that emphasizes the delicate structure of the flower while giving the composition depth and atmosphere.
The watercolor technique allows pigments to spread organically across the paper, producing natural textures and subtle gradients that enhance the sense of movement and life within the painting. The result is a botanical composition that feels both expressive and contemplative.
This piece balances botanical realism with expressive watercolor abstraction, making it a refined and atmospheric artwork suitable for modern interiors.
This artwork is a one-of-a-kind original watercolor painting, not a print.
