This artwork is part of my 365 Daily Painting Reflections project, where I create one new piece every day as a way of observing places, moments, and emotions through drawing and painting.

Day 45 continues my impressions of Kraków, capturing a quiet moment in the city’s historic streets. The scene shows old buildings, café terraces, and small figures moving through the square. Instead of focusing on precise architectural detail, the drawing emphasizes atmosphere — the feeling of walking through a European old town where light, shadows, and movement shape the space.

The piece is created using charcoal, ink, and markers on toned paper. The dark charcoal creates strong shadows and depth, while white marker highlights bring out light reflections on buildings and figures. This contrast gives the drawing a dramatic, almost cinematic mood, suggesting evening light and long shadows across the square.

The loose lines and expressive marks reflect the immediacy of urban sketching — capturing the energy of the place rather than perfect accuracy.
